Cottage built in 1870 in a new guise

The parents of the former owner of this house built it 150 years ago, this charming little cottage in New York state. Half a century later descendants have decided not to continue the family history, and to sell the house to the person who will take care of this place. And this happened! The house appeared in good hands, and renovation was not long in coming. Previously, this building served as a guest house and stables. The new owner decided to keep the spirit of the time and to the maximum to restore the original ceiling and walls. Restoration has turned out to be so successful that it seems that the only thing changes was just modern furniture, which was brought into the old interior, and the rest is preserved since the 19th century. Virginia Tapker was a designer, who was engaged into remodeling of this cottage, she managed to make it great room while the old, rustic and modern. Looking at these rooms, on the stone and wooden walls, cozy on textiles and pottery, calm down immediately, so everything looks very familiar and dear. After all, many of us are living memories of childhood, villages, meadows with wild flowers and such a special family comfort.
